The 12th Ghana International Furniture and Woodworking Industry Exhibition
(GIFEX 2008) is organized by the Forestry Commission with the support and collaboration of the Ministry of Lands, Forestry and Mines, Ministry of Trade and Industries, PSD&PSI, GTMO, GTA, FAWAG, GEPC, GIPC and EDIF. It offers a unique opportunity for manufacturers of wood and wood products (suppliers, buyers and users of wide range of goods and services) as well as platform for investment .

Objectives of the Exhibition

• Expose Woodworking industry to modern machinery and production techniques in order to increase efficiency and production.
• Promote large scale exports of value added wood products from popular and lesser used species.
• Widen the raw material base of the wood industry through the production of lesser used species.
• Enhance the foreign exchange earning capacity of industry through value addition.
• Promote linkages with institutions responsible for the sustainability of the forest industry.
• Promote the entire African wood industry through increased intra African trade.
• Educate the public and the wood sector on the wider use of various timber species for various products.
• Build capacity of Trade Association to play an advocacy role with Government on matters concerning the woodworking industry.
